Easy, DIY Butter

I recentley learned how to make homemade butter. Now, I’m not sure if I can ever got back to store bought margerine! Its a super easy recipe and makes a ton. Heres how!

What you will need:

-pint of heavy whipping cream

-mixer

-salt

I prefer to make mine in my Kitchen aid mixer. Simply pour your whipping cream into the bowl and mix for about 10 minutes. It will go from a liquid, to a whipping cream consistency, to a ball of butter. You know the butter is done when the ball forms. Pour your salt in and mix.

After the ball forms, take it out and wring out the liquid with your hands. This is buttermilk! I like to save mine for other recipes.

After you wring out the liquid, place the butter into a jar. It should stay good for about 1-2 weeks.

Easy and Delicious White Bread

This is my favorite bread for a beginner. It is no fuss, requires few ingredients (and not an insane amount of flour) and does not require a ton of kneading. Its even easier if you use a mixer! Plus, you mix it together and forget about it until the next morning! Also, this bread recipe is easy to double or even triple.

First, you need to prepare the dough. To do this mix the warm water and yeast in a bowl and set it aside. Make sure that the water is neither too hot or too cool.

While you are waiting for the yeast mixture to foam, you need to go ahead and prepare the dough. In a large bowl, mix the flour and the salt. Next, pour the foamy yeast mixture in with the flour/salt mixture.

Knead (or use your mixer) until the dough is smooth and elastic. Then, place the dough in a large ziploc bag and drizzle with olive oil. Make sure that the entire dough is covered with oil. This will ensure that the dough does not dry out over night.

Close the ziploc bag and let it sit in the refrigerator overnight.

When you are ready to bake the bread:

The next day, when you are ready to bake the bread, take the dough out of the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature. It usually takes about an hour.

After it comes to room temperature, sprinkle flour on your work surface. Take the dough out of the bag and place it on your work surface. Knead the dough for about a minute.

Form a log with the dough and place it in a greased 8 inch bread pan. Place a clean cloth on top of the bread and let it rise for another 2 hours.

Now you will need to preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

Your bread will be ready to bake when it has doubled in size. Place your bread in your preheated oven and bake for about 35-40 minutes.

After it has done baking take it out of the oven and let it cool completely. Slice, serve, and enjoy!
